New High-Temperature Structural Adhesive for Aerospace Composite Bonding
Templates033 Adhesives Division launches AeroBond HT-300, a next-generation two-component epoxy structural adhesive engineered specifically for aerospace composite-to-metal bonding applications requiring sustained performance at temperatures up to 300°C.
AeroBond HT-300 Performance
- Lap shear strength: 35 MPa on CFRP-to-titanium at room temperature (ASTM D5868)
- Retention at 250°C: 18 MPa lap shear (51% retention) — industry leading
- Glass transition temperature: 310°C (DSC onset) after post-cure at 200°C/4hr
- Fracture toughness: GIc 800 J/m² (DCB test, ASTM D5528) — toughened formulation
Key Differentiators
- Thixotropic paste with controlled flow — bonds gaps from 0.1 to 3mm uniformly
- Low exotherm during cure — safe for large bonded area applications
- Compatible with surface treatments: grit blast, phosphoric acid anodize, sol-gel, plasma
- Meets Airbus AIMS and Boeing BMS specifications (qualification in progress)
Target Applications
AeroBond HT-300 is designed for engine nacelle composite bonding, leading edge erosion shield attachment, thermal protection system (TPS) panel bonding, and next-generation hypersonic vehicle structural joints where temperature resistance above 250°C is a critical design requirement.
